You may be aware of recent reports in the media regarding issues at Pledge Music and delays in payments for artists using their platform. We are disappointed to let you know that unfortunately we have been caught up in these backlogs and our initial payment after completing our campaign has so far been delayed by more than two months.
This delay has several knock on effects for us and the release of ‘Rivers That Flow In Circles’. We have been hoping to release the album and set up some tour dates around May or June, but as things stand without our funding we are unable to manufacture our records and CDs meaning that it’s currently impossible to start making bookings or confirming our release date. This is extremely disappointing for us as we have been working hard on this album for the last two years and we have been very excited to share it with you.
We want to apologise to all of our incredible pledgers, your support has meant the world to us and although this is completely out of our hands we feel like we’re letting you down with these delays. We are still dedicated to fulfilling each and every pledge and we are beginning the process of fulfilling every pledge possible before the payment is made to us. This includes house concerts and we are looking forward to getting out to see some of you in the coming weeks.
We are wrapping up the remaining details of the album, from the final artwork tweaks to the final mixes and masters and as soon as the money becomes available to us we will push to get the process of releasing the album back on track. If needed we will also consider releasing the digital version of the album in line with our initial plans and fulfilling the physical copies as soon as we can.
In a statement on 24th January, Pledge Music stated that they anticipated the back log in payments would be rectified within 90 days. Although we find this completely unacceptable we have no other option but to wait for a solution to be found by Pledge Music and its partners. We are disappointed by the level of communication from Pledge Music throughout this process, we have had no direct contact to inform us of these issues, learning of them through the news, and the only source of information since has been through their blog. To the best of our knowledge no direct contact has been made to pledgers informing of these issues.
We have lodged a complaint with Pledge Music and if you would like to do the same you can follow this link: https://www.pledgemusic.com/site/help
We will continue to do everything we possibly can to rectify this situation, in the meantime please accept our apologies for the uncertainty around this release and when your pledges will be fulfilled.
We will continue to release our next single as planned and we hope that by the time this is released we will have some more answers for you.
Love,
Ben, Michael, Lydia and Dan
